Their Dreams, Our Dreams, We can Help

source: http://blog.imaginaryfoundation.com

Are you fortunate enough to have an education?

It is a sad truth that our beloved Philippines has so many out of school children. You can find these children in the streets of Metro Manila begging, wiping shoes in jeepneys, peddling cigarettes and candies, doing hard labor and other sorts of things instead of going to school.

Every street child wants to be out of such miserable situation and they could attain such if these youths have a chance of attaining education. Its a dream they may not be able to say out loud in our faces but you can find that desire to learn deep in their hearts. This is Their Dream.

My friend Jerry Villeta recounts how some of the street kids would go to his place to clean the creek and ask a small amount of money for them to go to school. Each of those kids needs 34 pesos each day for their transportation expense to go to school.

My beloved Krissy once had an experience about a street kid sitting in the back entrance of a jeepney. It was late already and this kid is still awake when he should be sleeping. My Krissy gave her 50 pesos hoping that this kid would get a decent dinner but didn't get any reply from the kid. When it was time for the jeepney to leave the kid step down and said "Tenk you po!!!" My beloved realized that these kid's main aim is survival.

Most of the time we brush off these kids thinking they might be a "syndikato" that is why we advice not to give them money but instead food. But again these kids as I said have dreams. What if with our small donation we can give these street children a chance at life?

This is Our Dream. A helping hand for these less fortunate to survive and be someone in the future.

One plan is a feeding program this coming December and another is "adopt a poor boy/girl program."

On our own we cannot do anything about the problem but with your help we can do something about it.

Please help us in making Their Dream and Our Dream possible. Suggestions on how to start this project would greatly help. Sharing ideas of how you have helped in the same manner is highly solicited. You can leave your ideas or stories by leaving your comments or by contacting us via email:

The solution to the world's problem is not a single big action by an individual but a small action by all of us who can change the lives of others.

Why am I PAYING IT FORWARD?

                                                source: http://agirlwithgreeneyes.blogspot.com/

Ever remember the movie where young Trevor McKinney(played by Haley Joel Osment) made a concept where in we can achieve an Utopian society when each helps  three persons but these three can't pay him back but instead has to pay it forward to another three persons and that such should be something that will truly have a big impact on that person's life.

At the present moment it seems such won't work because people seem not to care. Everyday we hear bad news from one place to another. And such has made us indifferent to our neighbor or countryman or any person. But that shouldn't be the case. It may  be impossible but if we make small steps it would make a difference.

The question now is do you want to make a difference?

                                                      source: http://langwitches.org/blog/

You have reasons why you help, why you volunteer, or chip in a donation. What is your reason? Why are you paying it forward?

This blog post is primarily for the projects I and my friends have started and we implore your help in making it a reality.

My friend  planned a visit to Chosen Children Village Foundation(to know more click here) and we ask for your kind donations in kind or monetary value for their wish list/needs.

On the other hand Jerry Villeta, a native of Isabela, is asking for help to help the poor victims of typhoon Juan in Isabela. We have coordinated such fund drive to his friend Fr. Sam Salazar, OFM  who gave us the list needed which mostly are cooking wares but would highly appreciate it if we can give some toys and clothing for the young ones(to learn on how to donate or have an idea where we can buy cooking wares at a better price please click here).

You can share your reasons here(by leaving your message in the comment box)if you are currently helping an organization or would like to join us in our two projects...it would be nice to hear that the world is filled with people with good hearts and is paying forward God's blessings to our less fortunate brothers and sisters .

Let me start and I hope you keep the ball rolling.

It has always been my dream to help out in building houses just as what Gawad Kalinga is doing today. I have been fortunate enough to passed my CPA Board Exam and have a work that supports my needs. I remember one time my conversations with my sister that I just wanted to have a simple life; but our life as a Delos Angeles back in our barangay where people look up to you makes me uneasy. It makes me uneasy because people think we are great clan or something but in reality we are just anyone else... that is why my desire to simplicity led me to my desire to help  those who needed help. It is unfortunate that I never had that chance thus I share my talent as a blogger to spread the word where help is needed most and whatever extra I have I share...

Can you help Isabela?

                                           source: http://members.shaw.ca/gthemidwife/

After typhoon Juan(international name Megi) ravaged Isabela the following is all what is left to the people:

                        source:http://www.flutrackers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153900

                                                source: http://www.allvoices.com

Christmas is coming and the people of Isabela will be spending their Christmas without their homes and with an empty stomach. The children wont received any gifts from Santa Claus not because because they  are bad rather their will be no gifts from their parents(Santa Claus in real life) because their livelihood is gone.

What can you do to help Isabela?

Gawad Kalinga has initiated an outreached program during the time typhoon Juan hit Isabela. As they continue to help they ask for our help as well. Kalinga sa Bayan: Laban Kay “Juan,” Para Kay Juan is an ongoing outreached of Gawad Kalinga. You can help by donating to Gawad Kalinga

My friends and I are planning to make a donation drive  through Jerry Villeta's friend in the Franciscan order, Fr. Sam Salazar, OFM. We are still in the planning stage and we hope to be able to set something on how are we going to organize donations and bring it to the designated barangay. Donations will be in kind and if possible it would be cooking wares, utensils, and food supplies. For more information please email or contact the following:

Jeepneed update: 36 hours to go and only $ 962 more to reach the goal

                            source: Youtube
Would it would be nice to watch the Pacquiao & Margarito fight tomorrow?

But would it be nicer also if JEEPNEED will be able to reach their goal of a total  $ 8,000.00 by tomorrow. JeepNeed is a project that aims to facilitates learning in rural public high schools in the Philippines by providing a customized program in science and technology through a Jeepney.

This transforms a cultural symbol into a fleet of mobile classrooms equipped with 21st century learning technologies and powered by alternative energy. All this at the service of the community and the school.

But this project would only be possible if they reached the $8,000.00 pledge/donation by tomorrow so that KickStarters will fund the project. This project will help poor far flung schools who don't have laboratory and computer facilities which is badly needed in their schools.

You can make a difference.

You can make a difference by pledging any amount with a minimum of $1.00. To make a pledge click this link :

Chosen Children Village Foundation

Chosen Children Village Foundation or CCVF is a home for mentally and/or physically challenged children.

They are located in Silang, Cavite, Philippines. The village is a safe haven, a home for life, for abandoned children who are physically and mentally challenged. It consists of several living cottages, a School, a Rehabilitation Center, and additional facilities.

ARE YOU ATTENDING THE KERYGMA FEAST AT VALLE VERDE IN PASIG? PLEASE CHECK NOTE AT THE END OF THIS POST FOR A PLAN DONATION AND VISIT TO CCVF

To know more about CCVF I quoted this form there website:

The village was founded by Maria Angeles (Lita) Peypoch Fullerton in 1989. Her vision focused on a home environment in caring for Physically and Mentally Challenged Children within a family setting. The traditional institutional setting was something that she felt was not beneficial to the growth and development of such special children with demanding needs.

The Chosen Children Village concept came about after the Las Piñas facility of Chosen Children Inc. was unable to cope with the volume of children needing a home and a family. Located in the cool, clean air of Silang, the 2.4 hectare parcel of land now houses cottages, chapel, school, administration clinic and physical therapy centers. The central focus is a spacious, multi-purpose play area where the children fill the air with laughter and squeals of delight.

There is a continuing need to finance this Village so that many more children will be able to thrive in a home environment. The Chosen Children Village and Chosen Children Inc. are both non-profit organizations that rely on donations in the form of child sponsorships or donations for the buildings' construction. Without help from the general public and corporations, CCV and CCI could not sustain this level of care and education.

Lita Fullerton's philosophy states that each and every one of these children deserves to be cared for by people who will love them with a mother's instinct. At Chosen Children, this happens, and she wants it to continue.

You can help these children achieve full potential inspite of their disability as Maria envisions. You can help through the following means:

He Cares Foundation: Be a channel of blessing

He Cares Foundation was established by Joe and Ardis Sola with the aim to help the poor street children of the Philippines.

There mission is to be a channel of God’s blessing to the poor especially the street children.

Their ultimate vision is to bring street children into a personal Relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and To get them off the streets and enable them to live healthy, safe, normal lives and become happy and productive individuals of our society.

Here are some ways share your blessings to these least fortunate street kids and with your help we can make these kids have a better chance at life and at the society...may our hopes and dreams for a better Philippines be achieved through them...

We at the He Cares Foundation want to share the blessing of being able to change lives!  Help us to help as many children as possible. There are many ways you can help...

Donate

Share your financial resources with the street children of the Philippines. Support He Cares Foundation with a donation. Any amount you give, large or small, will make a real difference to a street child in need.

You may choose to make a donation for a specific purpose, or you may choose to donate to our general fund, to cover the most pressing needs. If you are celebrating a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary, you may want to consider asking for a donation for He Cares Foundation in lieu of gifts.

You may donate in dollars or pesos.

Donate Supplies

Donate food, clothes, books, toys, shoes and bags or share whatever you can. If you have contacts with supermarkets, restaurants, bakeshops, or manufacturers of food, drugs, toiletries or other supplies, you can help us by soliciting and coordinating donations of their products. Even products which are nearing the expiry date are gladly accepted.

Sponsor a Child

You may want to sponsor a child and cover the cost of his/her education. The costs vary according to the educational level of the child: elementary, high school, college or vocational course, but you can sponsor a child for as little as $1 a day. If you are a teacher, you may want to encourage your class to support a poor child to go to school. Your class can together sponsor a child. You may also gather a group of friends, co-workers or family members to sponsor a child.

Give livelihood
Support the children & and their families by buying and promoting products and services from the He Cares workshop!

Our skills include:

    Beadwork Jewelry
    Scrapbook Stuff
    Sewing
    Silkscreening
    Metal work
    Catering
    Bakery Oven

Some He Cares Products are distributed by Papemelroti Gift Shop

Volunteer

Share your time and skills with the street children. Anyone can volunteer. You don't have to be a professional social worker, or teacher, but you have to have a heart that is open and willing to help the children.

You can be a tutor, teach the children and their families livelihood skills, or help in the feeding program or in the other activities in the Center. Come and join us!  We will find something for you to do (and we are open to suggestions!).
If you like writing and have time to do articles for the He Cares website and e-mail newsletter, please contact us so more people can be inspired by the great stories of faith that happen daily at He Cares Foundation.

Tahanan ng Pagmamahal

Do you love kids?

And do you wonder how come so many kids are in the streets of Metro Manila or any other place in the Philippines straying and begging in the streets? Probably you would think that there parents hated them and abandoned them, or their parents could have died and no one is there to take care of them, or simply some evil organization kidnapped them and put them in the streets to beg.

If you want to help them why not help Tahanan ng Pagmamahal.

Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children's Home Inc. is a a duly registered non-stock, non-profit organization under the securities and Exchange Commission,  currently having 5 directors and 10 trustees is now also opening it's doors for membership.  With the aim of building a big family of people serving the Lord by serving children, reaching out by registering as part of the organization is a big help.

I got a message from Bo Sanchez's newsletter about their need for a new place for the ever growing number of children. The message is below if interested please do help them:

PS3. Our Orphans Need A New Home.  Our present Tahanan ng Pagmamahal orphanage has now too many kids. We need to branch out. We’re looking for a new home for our orphans.

If you have a house you’re not using, or a house we can rent at very friendly prices around Metro Manila, tell us about it!

Here are the facilities we require for the orphanage:

-  Preferably in Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Quezon City, or Sta. Mesa area. (If your house is outside these areas, tell us about it anyway. We’ll consider...)

-  3 Bedrooms, 2 Toilet/Bath

-  Frontyard or Backyard—so kids can play

- Single detached house (not apartment/townhouse) because neighbors might complain that a noisy orphanage is beside them.

-  Public Elementary School just one jeepney/tricycle ride away

P Please email Rey Ortega at reylindo.ortega@gmail.com or call him up at Tel. 09228597035.

TThank you so much!
